Why did he leave me? – you feel UNHAPPY
How do I get out of this rut? – you feel STUCK
Why aren’t I getting those sales? – you feel FRUSTRATED
Why haven’t I got friends? – you feel LONELY
Why do I keep failing? – you feel CONFUSED
We tend to search for answers ONLY when encountering problems – Why?
It is quite obvious.
It is only then you feel the need to discover who you really are, what you really want in life and hopefully what your mission is.
On the 20th page of a book I once read, it said:
WE MUST BE THAT WHICH WE ARE NOT TO KNOW THAT WHICH WE ARE
(I had to read the sentence a few times before it sank in…. go on, read it again).
UNHAPPY, PARALIZED, FRUSTRATED, CONFUSED, were some of the dominant emotions my husband and I experienced when our company eventually hit the rocks a few years ago.
That was when my search began.
On YouTube, I stumbled upon an interview with Oprah Winfrey and discovered something life-changing.
Negative emotions are helplines, red flags signalizing the wrong choices which have detoured us from the right track.
It’s like somebody SHOUTING!
“NOT THAT WAY…..SILLY!”
Once you see your negative emotions as “helpers”, life takes a new dimension.
The mystery for me was…
WHY did I stumbled upon that particular video?
Was it by chance? Or maybe not…
That leads me to the question- WHERE DO ANSWERS REALLY COME FROM?!
When you consciously set off on a quest (finding a solution, searching for ideas or inspirations, looking for an explanation), your senses sharpen.
Like the hunter, you become more aware of your surroundings.
1. It could be in the NEXT SONG you HEAR that gives you a brilliant idea on what to write for your next presentation at work.
2. It could be the INFORMATION in the next ARTICLE you READ that gives you a hint how to help a loved one suffering from a disease (in my case it was an article by Dr Sebi that gave me new insights about diabetes which my father is suffering from).
3. It could be in the UTTERANCE of the next PERSON you MEET at the café, conference or workshop that inspires you.
4. It could be in the MELODY of the SINGING BIRDS, the WHISPER of the flowing RIVER, the soft BREEZE that CARESSES your EAR calming and creating a natural tunnel for ideas to pop-up from the sub-consciousness mind.
Like a bubble that pops on the surface from underneath the still lake.
Beethoven, Dickson, Darvin to Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg knew this very well and came up with some of the most famous ideas and inventions during their nature walks.
So like Bob Dylan sang, THE ANSWER IS BLOWING IN THE WIND.
Answers are everywhere, right there waiting patiently to be noticed by you. It could even be in a line from this article.
Don’t be overwhelmed by your circumstances. Do not focus on the pain they bring.
Instead, be aware of them, understand them and maneuver through,
BE STILL and LISTEN…
for the answer is blowing in the wind. (did you just sing it out?)
I would love to hear of the different places or mediums you have found answers to your troubles and how ideas come to you. Please share.
